The fastest way to raise the level of a ballroom is to raise the level of the people teaching in it. Michael's work as a teacher trainer is aimed one level up from the student: giving instructors a rigorous, examinable system for why the dancing works, not just a sequence to copy. He builds exam content and a technique question bank for Dance Vision, and examines candidates for Dance Vision and AIDA — the same standard he was measured against, now applied on the other side of the table. That work reaches across the American styles as much as the international ones — he does a good deal of teacher training in American Rhythm and examines in it as well.
